Minutes of 04/09/2009

1. Attended 04/09/2009 : Jennifer Lopez, Donna Hancock, Rich Woods, Frank Rickey, Sean Larkin, Ed Vallejo, Monroe Maxhimer, Mark Sordahl, Rene Houlihan, & our speakers, Powell Gammill, Pat Schwind & Mike Ross.

2. Our topic was supposed to be "John Chester Stuart: One Man's Struggle vs. an Unjust System". However, a few days before the event, John's attorney advised him to not attend, due to his upcoming trial for 2nd degree murder. So my friends Powell Gammill, & Mike Ross "stepped up" to fill the void, along with your's truly, Pat Schwind.

   Powell did a great job of explaining the John Stuart case; he's researched it, & the related law intensely. It's a long story I won't even try to convey here; but here's the rough sketch:

   In early '08, John & his girlfriend were in the Tatum & Pinnacle Peak area, putting up 'Ron Paul for President' signs. He was attacked by a drunk, (the autopsy showed he was 2.5 times the "legal drunk" limit - for driving), who tried to pull John from his vehicle at an intersection. The drunk got shot & died right there. Sounds like a classic case of self defense if you know the real details. Unfortunately, in the current 'Police State' we find ourselves, truth & justice mean almost nothing in many situations when dealing with the authorities. Personally, I can't wait to leave the US, but financial obligations & plans prevent that for at least the next decade, if I live that long.

   My great friend & 'Web-Meister', libertarian curmudgeon Mike Ross, had a 1 page hand-out (word format) with some relevant law re: handling confrontations with the cops, including brief summaries of ten local arrests, where he was detained for no good reason; he just "looks a little different". I also told a few stories of my experience with the legal system, both criminal & civil. I have no room here for even a few 'meaty details'. Suffice it to say that despite the fact I advocate "cooperating with the authorities" much of the time, especially in minor confrontations & 'traffic stops', I personally know that 'the system' is so corrupt & 'stacked against the little guy', that millions of Americans 'take the shaft' every year; especially the poor & Brown people. That's life. If we don't get our nation back from the control freaks & moneyed interests soon, in the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, I may one day advocate open revolt.

   • TBD- The Holocaust: History's Greatest Genocide or Outright Hoax? Please note: for this event, I need a real live 'Holocaust Denier' with the guts to admit their position, who's willing to face a real expert on the subject, (hopefully an experienced speaker from the Jewish community), in public. I'm studying the Holocaust, (as best I can in the little time I have between "chasin' a buck" & working on my old cars & old house); I'm pretty sure I can find a Jew to speak, or at least "provide moral support", in person, for me, if I can't find one to "handle the confrontation" directly. I'm serious; I love to fight & some times I "walk into the lion's den". Now I need somebody from the Denier Camp willing to do the same. Please call with specific suggestions; SERIOUS as a heart attack.
