   Mixed Martial Arts Fighter & Heritage Capital Consultant Mike Van Arsdale, presented "Energy, Diamonds & Dubai". Mike was one of 6 kids growing up in Waterloo, Iowa. His mother was one of 16 kids from an Irish Catholic family. His dad was a Black man, one of 17 kids, abandoned by Mike's grandfather. Mike's grandmother & the kids "stuck together", survived & prospered. Eventually, Mike's parents met, & when they married in 1959, the "JP" was shaking, because mixed race marriages were still illegal in Iowa at the time. Mike's dad owned 5 acres in the city limits of Waterloo, and the family worked a 2.5 acre garden. Much of the vegetables & meat they ate, came from their own farm land.

   Mike’s now 44 & was an NCAA wrestling champ at Iowa St. Univ. in 1988, (at 167 #), where he earned his degree in Hospitality Industry Management. After college, he took 2nd in the US Olympic Trials in ’96, & 3rd in 2000. He wrestled & coached for & the US Army, managed a restaurant in Manhattan, & was the wrestling coach at Ray Jackson’s Fight Club for 2 years. He now weighs 210#, & early this year was recruited by Heritage Capital, which owns mines & “fields”, & trades contracts & commodities, in the oil, gold & diamond industries. He’s the head of security for excursions to Africa & Asia to purchase diamonds directly from the mines or ‘middlemen’, usually in Sierra Leone & Dubai.

   As a MMA fighter, Mike has a 5 - 5 record against some of the toughest men on the planet, including Rashad Evans. His boxing coach was Chuck McGregor, who was called one the top 3 trainers in the business, a few years ago, by an ESPN fight commentator. Chuck used to help Mac Walker train some local Arizona fighters, in the 90's & early 00's, before Mac retired & moved to Oklahoma. Mac was my boxing coach, & I know Chuck. He's a retired Chicago cop, & a wonderful person. He coached Shannon Briggs a few years ago, for his heavyweight title fight at "Bank One Ballpark". Briggs took one of the four major "belts" (WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO), away from a fighter out of the former Soviet Union, when 4 separate fighters from 4 former Soviet "Republics", owned all 4 belts.

   After breakfast, Mike gave a real live MMA ‘demo’ in the parking lot, on thick carpet. I was the ‘demo dummy’. Mike showed us simple take-downs, throws, kicks, punches, choke & other submission holds. Mike used ~ 5-10% of his true power; if he’d have used much more, he could have easily broken some ribs or dislocated something on this old man. I had a blast!

   I wanna be a cage fighter!

   • TBD- The Holocaust: History's Greatest Genocide or Outright Hoax? Pat Schwind & hopefully a real 'expert', will debate Holocaust Denier Friedrich Paul Berg. I just need more time to get "up to speed".

   • TBD- Nuclear Power: I need a 'Greenie" to debate my good friend & nuclear engineer, Joe Napier.
