Becky Fenger is a very conservative award winning journalist. She’s good at her craft, but we disagree on most issues political, except for the need for fiscal prudence, in all segments of society, especially all levels of government. She believes Al Gore’s a “lying scumbag”, & the entire “global warming” issue is a giant hoax designed to make some people rich, at the expense of the masses.
She spoke about some of the political outrages of the last decade. She said “health care is a ‘privilege’ not a ‘right’, … any gov’t involvement always results in ‘rationing’!’’ She denies that any form of “socialized medicine” or “universal coverage” actually works well anywhere on earth! She detests my heroes at ACORN; I applaud the work of selfless volunteers who give a voice to those who ordinarily have none, as opposed to the GOP, which seems to feel that the poor & disenfranchised deserve their miserable station in life.
Becky's a big opponent of "Light Rail" or almost any form of "mass transit", ("city buses are OK, as long as the # of riders are there..."), since it helps folks who need it, rather than folks who've already "made it" financially.
To her credit, Becky opposes "Cap & Trade" environmental policies, as do I. I think they're a prescription for fraud & abuse, like "tax credits" for hiring new employees. But somehow I get the impression that she's opposed to the idea not because it's a bad idea, but a left wing idea.
Also to her credit, Becky goes ballistic at the idea of Al Gore winning the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, for his work on environmental issues. But she doesn't have a problem with the 'Coward W' stealing the elections of 2000 & 2004, from Al & John Kerry. I guess stealing elections is OK, as long as "your guy" wins! Hmmmmmmm?
I was surprised that Al won the prize, & felt that it should have gone to much more deserving parties. Becky felt another finalist that year, Irena Sendler (ne: Sendlerowa of Warsaw), who smuggled hundreds of Jews to safety during the Holocaust, should have won. I can't disagree with Becky that the award was misgiven to Al. But I don't think he's the wretched liar & scoundrel she portrays him. In fact, I think 9-11 was an "Inside Job", perpetrated by the "Bush Crime Family", to facilitate "full tilt boogie" war, 24/7, without resistance, on the part of a gullible & racist nation. If Al Gore had been prez, I really believe 9-11 never would've happened!
"Sustainability" is a dirty word to Becky, but then the GOP never really did care much for protecting the environment, since Teddy Roosevelt. But he'd be a Democrat if alive today. And Nixon was only "on-board" with the "Clean Water" & "Clean Air Acts", to balance his paranoia & attempts to destroy democracy as we know it. He was smart enough to be at least a little concerned about his legacy.
Becky & I both think Catholic Bishop Thomas O'Brien was a real criminal, & should be in prison for a number of reasons. But then she's a real Glenn Beck fan, & I think he's a racist, bent on creating a radical right wing theocracy, & therefore deserves to die a slow miserable death. That's correct, I just said I think Glenn Beck deserves to die a slow miserable death. I personally don't have the means or the "extreme balls" required to make that happen; but if it did, it would be a good thing for America, just as it would have been a good thing for the world, if the "underground" could have decommissioned Hitler, Mao or Joe Stalin in the 1930's.
One of my heroes, Barry Goldwater, (who was really much more of a libertarian than a GOP loyalist, especially in his old age), said "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice". Glenn Beck is a religious nut who'd take the nation back to the days of slavery, if he could still have modern conveniences. Given the power he has as a major media figure, I really do believe that he really does deserve to die a miserable death for the treasonous & racist lies that roll off his tongue each night.
Why exactly? Any asshole who believes that someone accused of a crime by an American prosecutor doesn't deserve basic "Miranda Rights" or a fair trial, doesn't deserve to breath air or take up space in our country, let alone make a gazillion dollars on the airwaves, catering to the hateful prejudices of stupid crackers in the "Greater Confederacy", & Zionists worldwide. Screw Glenn Beck; Slowly.
However, most Americans are such morons, that any physical attack on Beck would only make a martyr out of the evil screwball, & enhance his popularity with the "Tea-baggers" & other racists, who want to "take their country back", to the 1940's & '50's, when women, minorities & immigrants "knew their place" in society. So please, don't physically attack the man. Hopefully, he'll implode from his own mistakes in the next few years. If we're lucky, he'll be caught in some sex scandal, like so many other "holier than thou" Republicans, (usually gay hypocrites who've built their entire careers on "gay bashin' "!)
We flat ran out of time, but I wanted to ask Becky her opinion of the "Contract with America", the GOP Congress was so hepped up on in the Clinton years, & then turned their backs on, immediately, because they're just a bunch of hypocrites & liars. I also wanted to ask if she voted GOP most of the last few decades, while those evil creeps were destroying the financial, moral & social fabric of our nation. I'm almost positive she did, because she presents herself as a GOP loyalist.
Suffice it to say, as mentioned earlier, that Becky & I disagree on most issues political. Not that I believe the Democrats are the answer. They just tend to be a lot less evil, & a lot more concerned about helping "ordinary people", vs. the rich fat cats who tend to contribute money to the GOP by a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio, over the Dems.
In fact, in the last decade or two, I must place equal blame on the Dems, for not having the Balls to stand up to the GOP's nefarious efforts to turn America into a corporate Theocracy. Social conservatives have ruined this country. Even if we could recover morally & socially, we'll never recover financially, simply because of the idiocy of the 8 years of the coward W. And the Dems just let it happen, because they have no spine.
I'm a real lefty who believes in Peace, avoiding foreign entanglements, & real fiscal prudence. I also have some very hard core libertarian leanings on economic issues, & have called for the end of government subsidies for virtually every industry in our nation, especially the income tax deduction for the interest expense on residential mortgages! I also advocate the complete legalization of ALL DRUGS!! The "War on Drugs" is simply a WAR ON THE POOR, & flat out un-American!!
I despise both major parties, & I curse America for what it's become & what it does to innocent, defenseless people all over the world, especially Brown folks overseas, & to poor folks in America. I'm an atheist & don't subscribe to the "eye for an eye" theory of vengence & retribution. But most folks reading this prob'ly are "believers" who just might. If you do, it's very easy to make the case that we (America) deserve a new "9-11" every day, for at least a year, for what we do to the world & our own people.
Shocked?! Then pull your head out of your ass & do some research on how we lock up more people per capita, than any nation except RED China. Mostly for victim-less crimes. If you're some "law & order" nazi, & you don't care about that, perhaps you've heard that we killed at least a couple million people in the Vietnam War, a true "war of choice" if there ever was one: The "Gulf of Tonkin" episode never happened!! It was a total fabrication to justify more "full-tilt boogie" war without question.
Some historians say it's closer to 3, perhaps 4 million, & that we've murdered at least a half, prob'ly more like a million innocents in Iraq & Afghanistan, while displacing a couple million people in those poor countries, just in the years under the impostor W.
Why does America treat so many people, especially our own people, so freakin' bad? Because social conservatives don't care about what's right or wrong. They just want to jam their sick, "control freak" ideology down the throats of everyone else.
And they love the idea of making their buddies in the "Military-Industrial-Prison-Think Tank-Media-Complex" wealthy, since they contribute gobs of "blood-money" to the GOP. But god forbid you suggest spending a dime on a carton of milk for a poor kid in a shitty environment, or any money for a "public defender" for some innocent wretch, falsely accused in our sick system of IN-JUSTICE!!
