Minutes of 08/12/2010

1. Attended 08/12/2010 : Chuck Ross & Lilly G., Rich Woods, Zhani Doko, Jodie Kay Petra, Ed Stroup, Geri Seckinger, Mark & Rae Sordahl, Frank Rickey, Powell Gammill, Pat Schwind, and our speaker, Andrea Garcia.

   Attended 7/29/10: Rich Woods, Jodie Kay Petra, Ed Vallejo, Mark Sordahl, Frank Rickey, Powell Gammill, Maynard Dugway, Cecil Ash, Gaye Cochran, Marie Ramirez, Ed Casper, Jennifer Larkin, Olga Strickland, Pat Schwind, and our speaker, Anne Mardick.

   Since our last update, we had two great meetings:

   7/29- Anne Mardick of Americans United for Separation of Church & State, gave an enlightening presentation, "The Wall Between Church & State is Crumbling". My opinion: Our Nation's been ruined by social conservatives. Even if we recover emotionally, scientifically & socially, they've bankrupt US!!

   8/12- Libertarian Party Candidate for AZ St. Senate, Dist. 18, Andrea Garcia, whipped the daylights out of Russell ?SB1070? Pearce, (who failed to attend). She eviscerated the fascist pig in, "Why Russell Pearce & the Right Wing God Squad must be Stopped!" They don't want to control just Brown folks! They want us all!!

   Folks, I apologize terribly for not updating the "Coming Events" & the "Past Minutes", at Strategic-Edge.org, in the last month, until now. I've just had to devote so much time to the job search, that it didn't get done Mia Culpa. I'll get the 3 or 4 missing "minutes" (from earlier this year), done in the next couple weeks, I'm sure.

   I feel especially bad, since I'm gonna give the S/E a vacation, after the meeting of 9/9, for at least a year or more. I've been running the show for almost 10 years, and it's just too time consuming, when I have to work a regular job &/or look for work concurrently.

   I'll probaly bring it back with gusto, one of these days, and may even have a special lunch or evening presentation, for an amazing speaker, (e.g. Phil Tourney, below), in the meantime, but that's at least a year off. Maybe I'll land a gig where, the S/E fits "hand & glove", like it did for many years in the Mortgage Biz? Who knows? But don't count on it soon. (In the last 6 months, I've applied for dozens of jobs, from labor to controller; I got nothing so far, & I got a great resume.)

   • Possible Future Events, (perhaps in 2012, in time for some election preview; who knows!?):

   • 1) Tom Compton of "We Hold These Truths": The Dangers of Christian Zionism!

   • 2) Phil Tourney, Survivor of the 1967 Israeli Attack on the USS Liberty, during the "Six Day War"; One of the most egregious attacks on the US military, ever. It was a "false flag" event, that killed 34 US sailors!

   • 3) Economist Dr. Stephen Happel: Report Card on Obamanomics.

   • 4) Mark Victor, Sean Larkin & the Justice Project at ASU: Why does America Lock Up so many Freakin' Brown People?

   • 5) Dina Galissini of the John Birch Society: The Coming Surveilance Society.

   • 6) MMA Fighter, & NCAA Wrestling Champion, Mike Van Arsdale.

   • 9) Former Police Officers Jay Fleming & Commander Tony Ryan, now spokesmen for LEAP, "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition": The War on Drugs is Killing America. Legalize ALL Drugs NOW!!

5. Non "Strategic Edge" events; (call for details): 9/15 ? Monthly meeting of Phx chapter of NORML. We need to end the War on Drugs, which is simply a war on the poor, especially Brown folks.
